BOTTLE COLLECTION DEBUT PROJECT

This project supports children in the Philippines by providing them with basic school supplies, funded for through local community bottle collections and donations.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Hello! My name is Karen, and this project is the celebration of my debut. Traditionally in Filipino culture, the debut is a grand party, celebrating the coming-of-age of a woman as she turns 18. During the summer of 2018, I've visited my father's elementary school in the Philippines, and I wanted to celebrate my debut by giving back to that community.
STEP 1: BOTTLE COLLECTION
While I was 17, I went around my neighborhood and collected bottles from family friends. I would then recycle these bottles at the bottle depot and gather funds.
STEP 2: ACCEPT DONATIONS
I can also accept other donations, such as monetary donations and school supply donations.
STEP 3: USE FUNDS TO GATHER NEW SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Once I get the opportunity to travel back to the Philippines (currently unsure because of COVID complications, I will buy school supplies during my travels.
STEP 4 : HOST PARTY USING PERSONAL FUNDS
I will then host a small party with the elementary students (grades 3-6) and give them their school supplies!
